Intellectual Property Moot Court Competition at WIPO
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) announced the 2026 WIPO IP Moot Court Competition, which is open to young law students.
WIPO first organized the competition last year. This year, the competing teams will have to deal with an industrial property rights dispute, and will address areas such as patents, trademarks, designs and trade secrets. The cases to be processed may include issues of jurisdiction, the scope of protection provided by intellectual property rights, remedies available to the parties and cross-border enforcement. it is based on the processing in which teams must represent the parties in written and oral form. Two law students under the age of 35, who are enrolled at universities in WIPO Member States, and a coach per team can apply for the competition by submitting a registration form and a pre-recorded video argument. The selected teams will then prepare written submissions, and the best ones will advance to online oral rounds, from which 8 teams will advance to the final in Geneva (24-26 June 2026). The travel and accommodation expenses of the finalist teams will be covered by WIPO.
The deadline for applications for the Moot Court Competition is 15 December 2025.
